Question about surgery to correct deviated septum?!
Question: Question about surgery to correct deviated septum.?
I was wondering if during the corrective surgery, the procedure also includes minimizing the abnormal hump often situated in the bridge of the nose.?
I think this is in fact the case...
... but I wanted to know for sure.

Of course you'll need to check with your doctor/surgeon, but I had that corrective surgery done years ago. Afterwards, once the swelling had gone down, I had a large hump of cartilage on the bridge of my nose. I went back for round two, a sort of refining surgery, and they filed it down. The results were successful. I'm pretty sure the doctor will fix any cosmetic problems associated with the deviated septum, whether they are a result of the surgery, or were there to begin with.Health Question & Answer
Be careful with this one, I had it done 4 years ago, and it's a PAINFUL recovery. also, if this is for sleep apnea, just get the machine. two years after the surgery, my apnea reappeared and I needed the machine anyway. (and no, it does nothing with the "bridge bump". that's bone.)Health Question & Answer
