Question: What happens to insulin if you accidentally freeze it.?
i put my bag of insulin in the freezer by mistake yesterday for about 2 hours. i take the R and the N, the R was almost empty and the N was almost a new bottle. when i took it out it wasn't frozen, but it did freeze a little after it hit the warmer air. the bottle of N turned to ice, not the whole bottle, for about 3 minutes and it quickly turned back to normalHealth Question & Answer

It may not be 100% bad but it will not be as effective. I would throw it out to be safe. N in particular is fussy if it gets too cold. It separates out more and when you agitate it to mix it again, it doesn't mix well. I have taken a bottle where this happened back to the pharmacy and they swapped it for a new bottle.
