Answers:
I will answer this question based on just what I have learned from my own personal experience. I have had abnormal pap smears for over a year now and have had to have them every 4-6 months. Genital Warts are caused by the HPV virus. Low risk HPV strains cause warts and high-risk strains cause abnormal cells changes (dysplasia) and can lead to cancer. It is the high-risk strains that you have to really worry about becoming cancer. Although warts can return, I have not heard of them developing into cancer. If you were told to wait another year for another pap smear, your doctor doesn't seem to worried about it progressing. If he/she was, they would definitely have you back within 4 to 6 months for another pap. Cervical cancer usually takes a while to develop. Not smoking and taking vitamins will help your immune system keep up so that it can keep your HSV at bay.Health Question & Answer

* An individual's lifetime risk of HPV infection exceeds 50% but most are asymptomatically infected, with only about 1
