The thing at the back of my throat is swollen..?!
Question: The thing at the back of my throat is swollen...?
My throat isn't really sore, but it has been dry lately and I've had a cold. I have had my tonsils removed. And I'm not running a fever. I am seeing my doctor on Monday if it's not better. But what could this be.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
The thing in the back of your throat is your uvula. You have what's called uvulitis. It's an infection of the uvula and requires antibiotics for treatments. You should see your general practicioner. This is not an emergency, however. You can see him on Monday if it hasn't cleared by then (which it most likely will not).
