What does a low Platelet count mean?!


Question: What does a low Platelet count mean.?
Recently i had gone to the doctors because I was sick for a week, I found out I had pneumonia, but they also said I had a low platelet count, they wanted to do another test. Test two same results Now they say they want me to come back in monday for more blood work, what does this all mean.? I have pneumonia, and a low platelet count.Health Question & Answer


Answers:
a low platelet count just means that your body doesnt produce a lot of platelets or white blood cells. it doesn't mean that your dyeing or anything it just means that your body isnt producing enough WBC's. Or your body just may be using all your WBC's to fight infections, like pneumonia. just try to stay relaxed until you hear from your doctor. you are not goin to have some rare skin disease and die.

My goodness, these people have you dying already. It could very possibly be a side effect of some medication you're taking. Let them do their tests b4 you think the worst.There are other reasons for thrombocytopenia.Like taking too much aspirin.
Just be extra careful with injuries until they find out.
