How to prevent a ganglion cyst?!

Question: How to prevent a ganglion cyst.?
I have a bad history with ganglion cysts, I get them at least once every year or sometimes twice. In the past, I've had them on both wrists. For the past couple of days I have felt one coming onto my right wrist again. I can feel mild pain already, but these things hurt so much and I really want to prevent them for occurring again. I don't want surgery done, they come back again anyways.

What are some measure I can take to prevent it from occurring again.?
By the way, I am left handed.
Thanks :)Health Question & Answer

Apart from splinting both wrists permanently so that you can't use them, I don't think there is any way to stop them occurring. But you could try wrist braces to support your wrists - this may slow down the occurrence - or at least help ease any pain they cause.

Unfortunately once you've proven you are prone to them, it's just a fact of life :(

Sometime with surgery they can mend the joint it is coming from (if it is from a joint) I don't know of anything they can do if it is coming from a ligament.Health Question & Answer

Prevention of the cyst isn't something that's well researched since the cause for the disease hasn't even been established.

How are you currently treating the cysts.? I hope you're not going old school on them.Health Question & Answer
