Why does diabetes do to the body to increase risk.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Well, first off -- Diabetes is an "off-the-wall" SYMPTOMATOR...
It wreaks havoc with all the organs (in no particular order).
It damages nerve cells and increases the patient's chances of heart/kidney/liver/pancreas... diseases.

It sounds like the gentleman who is having the surgery may already have a history of heart problems. In the average individual, a valve insertion, bypass, catherization are now considered "somewhat routine" if performed in a good hospital with great doctors -- but they still have an outside risk of complications.

But, for someone with a history of poor heart health and other issues (tracheotomy for what.?)...

All you can do is pray and take good care of yourself, so that you do not put your family through this heartbreak if YOU develop diabetes!
