Answers:
Get him tested for allergies quick because swelling and fevers are very much related to allergic reactions. A lot of these issues can be cleared up if you remove the top 5 allergens from his diet, while you are waiting for the results from his allergy test. Those are: wheat gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts and sugar. Do it today before he dies from a reaction. All his symptoms can be attributed to a severe allergic reaction, even the breathing problems and seizures.

To the "I'm not a doctor" guy:
"because you say he gets sick a lot and doesn't have fever a lot of the time"

Read the question, she said:
"he gets ill quite a lot when he does he ALWAYS gets raging temperatures/high fever "

and:
"despite what many people think seizures are not that dangerous there is a lot of hype going around bcause of Jet Travoltas tragic demise but in reality he was killed because he fell on the tub not brain damage from the siezure"

That is exactly why seizure are so dangerous!

Finally:
"don't go bursting into the emergency room screaming like a banshee when your son is healthy when people are actually in pain and dying"

He is that sick obviously! And you are just one more person who thinks that he could be just fine, it might just be asthma, yeah right!Health Question & Answer

My son had feabral seizures when he was little and he grew out of them by the time he went to school. It is a very scary thing to see when they are so little. He spiked a temp so quick and with no notice. I had to double dose him with tyleol and motrin...if you have a childrens hospital near you take your son in to be tested. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

My first two choices would have been allergy reaction and asthma because I dealt with this with my own children. You said he was tested for asthma, don't forget allergies. 2 of my children suffer from these things, when one was younger she would have the swelling of lips, nose and stop breathing, When tested she was allergic to over 100 things. Gravel, carpet, grass, nuts, certain fruit, fish, lotions, the list went on and on. Now that she's grown she jokes that I nearly killed her several times, you gotta get him tested, you'll be surprised at the everyday things in your home that could be causing his problems.Health Question & Answer

Okay relax =) its gonna be Okay. It's your child and they are very scary symptoms but relax. I'm not a doctor but I can give you some information but remember most important person in the world for your kid to see is a good pediatrician okay because he (she) knows whats best if you don't believe the doctor consider seeing a specialist (pulmonologist, allergist, Immunologist.)

These are several things I think it could be but remember I am an amature and am responding to your question and possibly some things to bring up with your doctor

1.because you say he gets sick a lot and doesn't have fever a lot of the time I am tempted to think it may be an immune deficiency. Unlike Hiv this is very manageable and you are not responsible in any way. http://pediatrics.about.com/od/primaryim...

2. Asthma very common in small children make sure to have him tested again http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asthma

3. Severe allergies http://www.aaaai.org/springallergy/2003/...

But most important message I take away to you is speak with your doctor and you may feel he's not doing enough to help your child or isn't paying attention or even doesn't know what he's talking about. If thats the case consider seeing a different doctor but remember this man went through 4 years of college, 4 years of med school and up to 7 years of specialization plus on the job training so trust him =).

In response to Stephen despite what many people think seizures are not that dangerous there is a lot of hype going around bcause of Jet Travoltas tragic demise but in reality he was killed because he fell on the tub not brain damage from the siezure NOT TO SAY YOU SHOULD NOT TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT IT if your doctor does not recomend seeing a neurologist don't do what stephen did becuase your just gonna get charged for something you may not need there are plenty of epilesy and seizure medications your family doctor can prescribe to you but if you do feel you need to speak to a neurologist make an appointment its probably not a dire sitiuation don't go bursting into the emergency room screaming like a banshee when your son is healthy when people are actually in pain and dyingHealth Question & Answer
