It is extremely rare for teenagers to have a heart attack. What you explained doesn't sound like a heart attack to me. A while ago I had the same symptoms as you, and the pain was so bad sometimes I almost went to the ER. I went to my doctor and he told me that it was normal for teenagers to experience that, and he told me the cartilage in my chest was inflamed. I just had to take pain pills and it got better in a week or so. But I highly doubt that you are having a heart attack, so don't worry. I'd get an appointment with your doctor, and soon so you don't have to deal with that for long.

Hope that helps!!Health Question & Answer

when you have a heart attack you will feel pressure for far more than a few seconds. i thought that this was happening to me too, come to find out, they were panic attacks. if you are stressed out at all this is probably what it is. believe it or not, most people who go to the ER for heart pain are really just suffering from anxiety (panic attacks). but if you are really worried, then just go and have a checkup, you're better safe than sorry. most doctors allow you to call their office and ask the nurse questions to see if you need to come in.

good luck and i hope you feel better soon. :)Health Question & Answer

If you are having true heart issues it is unlikely that when you rub your chest you would have any pain. I had a similar experience. I found out (from a doctor) that mine was due to a stressed muscle in my shoulder. It actually comes over the shoulder and wraps toward your chest. For me the answer was some specific shoulder exercises and massage.Health Question & Answer

No, especially when you can reproduce the discomfort by rubbing the chest. It sounds like inflammation of the chest wall only, not related to the heart.Health Question & Answer
