Is it possible for mold to grow in one's lungs?!

Question: Is it possible for mold to grow in one's lungs.?
My bathtub cocking is really messed up (Its peeling off), and when my grandmother saw it she said something about getting rid of the mold before we all had it growing in our lungs. I doubt it would happen, logically, but it still freaked me out a bit, so I'm hoping to find out the truth about the side effects of mold spore inhalation. Thanks for any answers.Health Question & Answer

Most mold will just cause you problems. And yes and no. Mold can grow in your lungs, but it won't take long to kill you before it gets very far. Mostly it causes breathing problems with the spores that settle in that do not grow and your immune system kills it before it can grow. If your immune system is down, then it will definately grow and cause problems like death.

The one to really look out for is black mold. Black mold doesn't really enter your lungs from spores, because it does not produce spores, but spreads systematically. Black mold enters through your orifaces, (mouth, anus, vagina, and skin pores) and is deadly to the right person, even with a good immune system. Bleach 1 to 100 mixture in a spray bottle, let it sit on all surfaces even the ones that don't show mold, for 30 minutes, takes care of all molds, even the black ones.Health Question & Answer

Toxic mold can mess up your lungs and cause cancer, but not all mold is toxic. Infact, most isn't. Use bleech on your tub molding and keep a window open or the fan on while doing so. It will kill the spores. I was just looking this up the other day because my daughter is allergic to mold and we have a bad roof with mold in the attic. Bathtub mold is very common and easily killed. I know my mom was on an oxygen tank for months before given Diflucan, an anti fungal, for a month treating her for yeast infection in the lungs. It was scary and hard to diagnose.Health Question & Answer

All I know is mold can be dangerous. We had to move out of an apt. complex before because they wouldn't get rid of the mold all in the hallway outside of our door. We called the health department on them and the health dept. made them fix the problem. Even though we moved we were concerned because of the other tenants living there and one girl was pregnant.Health Question & Answer
