I need advice on respiratory illnesses. Thanks!?!

Question: I need advice on respiratory illnesses. Thanks!.?
I have asthma and have had it for several years now, unfortunately, but I also have had lots of stress in my life, triggers, and infections whether cold or bronchitis or what not. Anyways, how does one tell first of all if you're having an asthma flare up, or if it's just a cold, or if it's bronchitis or pneumonia, or what not.?

My symptoms are like a constant, chronic soreness in the chest where you can actually FEEL your chest, like it feels like it's there, and it radiates to the back too, and sometimes this soreness is light, and other times it's really heavy to the point where it feels like it's imploding in your chest, like your air is being sucked inward. Yet,..when I breathe...I sound okay and I can, but yet I still feel the soreness. Which is why the doctors say I'm fine, even though I feel the soreness and it causes me to feel lightheaded, trouble walking, and even makes my heart skip beats at times! Literally! And they say I'm fine....

I had a cardiac checkup a few years ago and that was fine, and had EKG's which are also fine....everything is technically fine, so then why don't I FEEL fine.?

I can't run, it's uot of the question, I have trouble walking up the stairs, and I get vertigo, and I've been getting sick non stop in the past year, most likely due to stress and the overuse of prednisone, and some asthma meds.

But, I can't differentiate between what's a cold, what's my asthma, what's nothing, what's something more serious..I just can't.

Is it possible that I'm actually in all reality, fine...but I have inflammation asthma symptoms chronically, which for whatever reason...medical doctors don't seem to be worried about.?

is that just a normal part of having asthma.?

I mean how normal is it to use about a bottle of guafersin/chest congestion a week, or every two weeks for several months, use so many meds like symbicort, nasonex, singulair, pulmicort, etc...and still not get relief from this "chest soreness.?"

Could it be that...I have chronic bronchitis, or colds or other respiratory infections that settled in my chest that just never went away.?

My doctors say I'm fine, and I've seen over 4 different ones. The ER staff says I'm fine. The paramedics, rescue squad people roll their eyes, and think it's just anxiety.

I do have panic/anxiety disorder as well which I take meds for, but my sore chest is still here, yet... no one takes it seriously.

Xray and CT scan are fine too. show nothing.

So then what's wrong with me.?!.? I'm 27, and this has been on going for the last few years, and prior to that, I've NEVER EVER had this sore chest symptom EVER, and I never had asthma either.

All of this just sort of happened in the last few years, and now it won't go away. At all.

It's very uncomfortable and scary.

Can someone give me ANY...advice or anything on this.? thanks.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Ok. Relax. All what you describe happens in Asthma.
I had it for several years..When I was 10 years old I use to have wheezing sounds..My father would give me homeopathic medicine Nat.Phos and it will go away.
I went to Japan and was staying with a friend. I got wheezing and it was stronger. The doctor gave me Asthma medicine. since then I suffered with Asthma for a long time.
Luckily Pulmicort helped me. I used albutrol also. But I used Pulmicort for a year and slowly quit taking it and now 3 years I am free of Asthma.
You are right.when we get cold we start taking asthma medicines because we get scared of congestion.
Do not get panic.
You can get rid of Asthma.
Go for allergy test and find out what gives you Asthma.
If your city is not clean and congested you get asthma.
Do you smoke .?
Stop it.
At the first sign of congestion, take one tea spoon of pure honey mix 1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder in it. You can get turmeric powder at any Arab Pakistani indian grocery store.
Try to exercise by taking deep breath or take a balloon and daily blow it..check how big you do it first day and next day.
You need lot of fresh air.
Avoid perfumes, smoke dust and gatherings.
believe me all these signs indicate an Asthma more triggered by anxiety.
It is curable. you just look for a better doctor.
Dimetapp. it is good expectorant though it is for children but I used it.
And do not forget to take Flu shot. it will avid cold and flu.
I assure you you will be fine.. just stop panicking and believe that Asthma is curable..All this soreness will go God willing.Health Question & Answer

Wwhhoooaaa! Slow down partner! Pace yourself!
Number One....you have got to learn to properly manage your asthma.
You need a Maintenance ICS (inhaled corticosteroid) and a rescue inhaler (Albuterol, Xopenex, ProAir, etc.) You also need an Asthma Care Plan. Its a step-by-step guide to deal with your symptoms systematically. Speak to your local Asthma Educator or check out the Asthma Health Center in your State. You can find that info at my website: http://www.yourasthmaworld.com/Quicklist...
Below the list of National Organizations, you will find Asthma Programs By State.

Number Two: Anxiety, stress, allergies, cold/flu are triggers for asthma. Asthma is chronic and will be with you indefinitely. Your job will be to control it, so it will not control and eventually consume you. If you can control your triggers, you will control Asthma.

Number Three: DO NOT OVERUSE THE ICS...pulmicort, symbicort. Only use as prescribed. Overuse and using it as a rescue inhaler can have serious consequences! Definitely talk to asthma professionals about how you are using your asthma medication, OTC drugs and anxiety meds. I think you're over-stimulated and need a professional to help get your medication usage under control. You're bouncing off the wall, Man!Health Question & Answer

You sound like you are really having a large problem. I think that you could have allergies. Allergies can do the same thing that you are talking about. also, anyone with asthma knows it is hard to breathe with it. Find A doctor that knows nothing about your previous symptoms. Go to him and don't tell him anything about your prior health problems. Then ask him to check you for allergies, or asthma. If things are still wrong after he checks you then you will have a clearer knowledge of what is happening to you. Try to find something to do to help you settle your nerves. I do embroidery, music, and other things. Good luck to you.Health Question & Answer
