A permanent Colostomy, is there any possibility to reconnect?!

Question: A permanent Colostomy, is there any possibility to reconnect.?
by means of transplant organ or somebody will donate his organ.? Is that possible.? Is there already a case like that.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Sometimes they can be reconnected, other times it cannot. I have never heard of a transplant surgery to correct it. If there isn't enough bowel left to reconnect the two ends, usually caused by disease or injury, there is nothing that can be done to reverse it. Health Question & Answer

Large intestine transplants aren't being done yet (although they have done some small intestine transplants). This is largely, because you can easily live without a large intestine and the money needs to go towards those organs you can't live without, eg small intestine, heart, lungs, etc Plus the fact that you'll also need to be on anti-rejection drugs for the rest of your life, just doesn't make it worth it when you can live without it.

If you still have a temporary colostomy and still have your rectum and anus, then yes, there's a possibility you can be reconnected but if your rectum and anus were removed as well, then the surgery is permanent.Health Question & Answer

I've never heard of that happening, it's not a life or death situation. If there was that possibility there would probably be incontinence and that is a lot easier to take care of from the front that from the behind.Health Question & Answer

It is possible to reconnect a colostomy by putting the colon back together the way it was originally. Sometimes colostomies aren't meant to be permanent. They were talking about that in my CNA class last week.Health Question & Answer

Sadly No.
