Acne=Ugly???????????????!

Everyone knows when you look in the fashion magazines, you never see anyone with acne. This is understandable, because well..acne is not pretty. But this bothers me. As a high school teen, if you have acne, you are more likely to be talked about and shunned by the opposite sex. This can seriously lower ones self esteem. I have acne... not the worst case but still pretty bad. My self esteem is definitely not high. I never have been asked out as a teen. This doesn't bother me a whole lot, but I've actually had a number of my friends/classmates say, "You know, _______, you'd actually look nice looking, possibly hot if you didn't have acne." This is so hurtful to me because its true. I have tried every acne medication on the market. Nothing seems to work for me, so I'm not looking for skin advice. I just think that nowadays, its hard to have acne and still look attractive. When you look in the mirror and see so much acne you can't even see yourself, you just want to cry sometimes. I'm not going to cover my face with makeup. I've tried that and It makes the acne more noticeable and actually clogs pores. I have tried covering my face with hair. This seems to work but recently the wind blew it out of place and a girl in my class was like, "Wow, _______, you have a lot of acne!" I was devastated. So I ask you: Why can't people with acne be pretty.? Do you get disgusted when you see people with acne.?.. If you see someone with acne, does that automatically mean you wont be attracted to them.?... and who screwed up the world to make it this way (besides the fashion mags that declare that to be pretty you must have perfect skin, hair, pointy noses, porcelain skin, and an artificial personality.?Health Question & Answer
