RECCOMENDATIONS for using Saline wash on my wound?!

Question: RECCOMENDATIONS for using Saline wash on my wound.?
I am self-diagnosing a class-2 injury I caused on myself, this past Saturday.
This injury is on the distal tip of my amputated leg (32 years ago.)
And how / if should I dry this area after washing with tap water and then rinsing with this saline wash.?
I bought a spray bottle of Saline wound-wash from my local Walgreen's store. I am using this spray in aim to heal my injury before Thursday.
Should I have to continue applying the Triple-Antibiotic ointment to my continually-washed wound even with this Saline-wash.?
Thanks for all known medical diagnoses.Health Question & Answer

I would be a bit cautious about asking this kind of question here. You are likely to get some very confusing responses and unwarranted/unprofessional opinions as well. This is something I suggest you take to your doctor, first and foremost.

However, if you want my professional opinion...yes...it sound like you are doing the right thing. Warm soapy water to wash with, and then apply your ointment around the wound. Saline probably won't do much with regard to this wound (I can't see), unless you plan on doing wet-to-dry dressing changes.

Still...depending on the severity of this wound, you need professional opinion that also includes being able to LOOK at the wound itself. You might heal faster with some antibiotics. Not to mention, you don't want to end up with some bone infection that could get you into a lot of trouble and land you in the hospital.

Best of luck.Health Question & Answer
