I got trich from my ex boyfriend back in June. I had a very specific set of symptoms and my doctor gave me metronidazole which cleared it up within 2 days. Stupidly, I slept with my ex boyfriend again about a month ago. He told he had been treated. Now I have the exact same symptoms again. I went to the doctor and they took a swab test and it came back negative, along with tests for all the other STD's. I asked her to give me metronidazole again because I know I have this. She wouldn't do it and told me it was all in my head.
Now I'm stuck with this disgusting discharge that I KNOW is trich. I can't afford to keep paying for doctor co-pays, so what am I supposed to do.? Is there any way I can get rid of this without a prescription.? I can't go to another doctor because where I live it takes 3 months to get an appointment as a new patient.

It is possible to get trich again if your exposed again, but you know this. He is likely continuing to get re-exposed where ever he is getting it. So others out there are contaminating him too. Your discharge I am sure smells like fish (amine odor). The test that is performed for trich is a wet prep that is examined under a microscope. Trich can be readily seen. I do these microscopic examinations almost daily.

i suggest goin to the ER or some kind of state health dept where they give free condoms and stuff and tell them your symptoms and what u believe u may have......and please stay away from your ex thats y he is your ex. u wouldnt be in this situation. Go to a local Planned Parenthood. The service is good and cheap, and run by an all female staff.
