I have most of the symptoms of Diabetes, but...?!

Question: I have most of the symptoms of Diabetes, but....?
not all of them. The biggest one I DON'T have is that I'm GAINING weight not losing it.

BUT...

*I'm irritable
*I'm extremely fatigued
*I sometimes think a room is smoky...I'm thinking it's the blurry eyesight they talk about
*I hit my shin over 3 weeks ago and it's still hurts alot...
*I sprained my ankle almost 3 weeks ago and it still hurts badly...I'm thinking this is what they mean by slow healing wounds.
*I also had a sore in my mouth a couple weeks that healed slow
*I'm always thirsty
*I'm ALWAYS going to the bathroom...and I'm definitely going to the bathroom more than I am drinking

I have a doc appt in November but I want to go in a little more knowledged about it, in case Diabetes is the outcome.

Anyway, what do you guys think....? Diabetes....? Anything else....?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
In diabetes if you have hypothyroidism too then you are likely to gain weight and not loose it. You must be oscillating from low sugar to high sugar attacks frequently hence the smoky room feeling and other symptoms do not put your visit to the doctor for nov, if possible see one this week itselfHealth Question & Answer

I'm exactly the same and i've been tested for diabetes by my doctor then a specialist about 2 years ago and it all came back fine.
still no answers.
I even know what you mean by the smoky room thing, thats happens to me alot too.
but I also tend to gain weight not lose it.
I hope you get some answers because I know how frustrating it is when you know something is wrong but dont have answers.

I have type II diabetes and never had any of those symptoms. I just went in for a physical and because of family history and obesity had a fasting blood sugar which indicated diabetes. If you want more information go the the American Diabetes Association website at www.diabetes.org. Diabetes is a serious disease, but try not to be too freaked out about it because with medication and diet, you can live a completely normal life. In fact, my mother was diagnosed with diabetes in 1941 when she was 16 years old. She worked, raised three children and has outlived two husbands. She is 83 years old and only recently has started suffering from the complications many diabetics have. Health Question & Answer

Hi!

I've had type one diabetes for 18 years, and it sounds like you may have diabetes. With every disease, symptoms vary, and you will not know what is wrong until you get the right tests done. Diabetics can gain weight before being diagnosed because of the increased thirst and often hunger. If your drinks have calories, it is possible to put on weight from them. also, sometimes a shock to your system can slow metabolism, but please know I am not a doctor and this is just my opinion! :)

My advice is to find a doctor you truly trust, and get as many tests done as possible. If your symptoms persist and your doctor dismisses them, find another doctor! I cannot stress the importance of finding a good doctor enough. You may or may not have diabetes, but you deserve to find a solution to your health problems!

I hope that helped a little :)Health Question & Answer
