He screamed to me tonight as though he was being attacked. Momma.? Mom.? Momma.? I yelled as all mothers do "What" Like. What the fu...he screamed again" my toe...my toe...my toe nail' I yelled back "What".? So uncaring like so many mothers do, His toenail came off right in front of me.?! My question is to you, for I will call his doctor tomorrow., When did we forget that the world only surrounds our children and the crys no matter how big or little are of wolfs. My boy...boys cry wolf all the time. Does it matter. They are little boys and shouldn't we, no matter how many times they do cry...run.?@ For there may be a time, one time. we wish we had.? My heart goes out to you, my sister is a type one diabetic and has it real bad and has been hospitalized twice, no one really has the right answers and maybe not enough people know about the disease, when i was in High school I only knew two people who had it and gave themselves insilin shots. I find that the AMerican Diabetic Association has great information, my sister loves organic food from Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and Spouts, Splenda and Stevia are good instead of Nutrisweet and other diet stuff that causes cancers in animals and humans over time. Diabetes is scary for anyone, we think maybe an ansestor had this- we are mexican jewish decient and we were told to watch for breast cancers,but no one ever mentioned the diabetes. My sister said that there are some self-published books geared for kids on Lulu.com about diabetes that seem cute and kid friendly. Your son might also like to write his own story to express himself. I know a little boy who did that with his cancer and it helped him. Just a thought! Stay strong, your son is blessed to have you in his life!Health Question & Answer
It is amazing just how important people are to us in our lives and we don't really notice untill something like this happens, we take each other for granted and aren't thankful enough for ALL the Blessings we have in life.Diabetes is not the worst thing in the world so chin up-- and live as normal and happy a life as you can. He probably stubbed his toe. As for the diabetes, ask his doctor about a new medication called Januvia. It's supposed to reduce blood sugar and boost insulin levels.Health Question & Answer
Hi & I so understand your pain. I have Type 2 diabetes & I can only speak to you about the pain & agony that it gives me. But as mother,of three grown Sons, I can so understand how you feel. I'm sure you know the dangers of foot problems with a diabetic. I have Neuropathy due to my diabetes & I can attest to the pain. PLEASE don''t feel badly about reacting in a stressed way! We ALL to it & we all feel so badly afterwards.I bet you could sit with your Son today & tell him exactly what you've told us & he would understand. I'm sure you could tell him that you need to have him be honest at all times concerning his illness & maybe you could work out a "code word" that he could use with you when he feels he's having something serious happen to his body. Something that's even funny would help to ease his concern & help you know when he really needs you. Of course there would be some sort of punishment if he misused it.LOL You are a great Mother!
