Question: He was unresponsive w/ 30% brain activity. He grabbed my hand randomly, could he hear me.?
My fiancee died on July 4th and I am trying to come to terms with his death. His accident was on July 2nd and when he got to the hospital he had only 30% brain activity and his brain had been without oxygen for at least 30 minutes. I sat by him the entire time. I asked him for a response but never really got anything. The first few hours when I was holding his hand he squeezed my hand and raised his arm. After a day all movement stopped. A friend told me this was a reaction due to the brain swelling and hitting nerves. BUT I can't find anything to validate that on the internet. Can someone please tell me.... did he know I was there. Could he hear me.?.? Those first few hours did he feel the pain.?.?Health Question & Answer

Your fiancee may have heard you, but may not have been able to speak any longer, and/or may have only felt your touch and responded in the only way that he could have.

I'm no expert, but with thirty percent brain activity he did probably feel the pain, and perhaps he did know you were there with him. Mankind is capable of incredible things
