Question: A question about cancer and hiv / aids.?
the world's top scientists and doctors have spent decades researching and looking for a cure for cancer, hiv and aids, and us people have donated countless sums of money. have we seen any real results.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
Although there is no cure available to the public, there have been many advancements in both areas, allowing for a longer life and a better quality of life. Many treatments are now safer and more effective, and painful side effects can now be controlled or reduced by other medicines.
There are also rumors that a cure was found, but the government refuses to produce/distribute it as it would rid many people of jobs, etc. Personally, I believe this is all fallacy, but I've met many who believe rumors such as this.Health Question & Answer

I guess you mean, what about a cure, or a vaccine.? the thing about HIV is that it mutates, and changes so quickly, that any drug developed fails soon, and no way to make a vaccine for a virus that's already different (Am I making sense). A new antiviral was recently discovered; but other than that, HIV research is at a standstill.
A lot of investigation focuses on how to prevent getting the virus after exposure.Health Question & Answer
