Question: I got an ICD implanted before 1week. I currently feel normal except the weird feeling on my left side neck..?
can somebody tell me why i am feeling like a strain on the left side of my neck. i feel like my blood stream is strained but when someone looked it for me there is no sign of any strain. is it usual or not.? I am worried if they messed up my surgery and i am experiencing the consequence. please adviceHealth Question & Answer

It was probably placed in your left upper chest yes.? This is the usual placement. More then likely you are experiencing muscle spasm and referred pain from that location. since it is placed after cutting thru the tissue, it is common for it to be quite sore for 1-3 weeks. i am also guessing it was not an upgrade from a pacemaker.?
should be fine in a week or so. don't use your left arm for much and just rest. no leads were placed up the side of your neck and their is no manipulation of the tissue that far up your neck. also no nervous system pathways that direction either. you will be fine soon.
