I know this is a silly question, but does the influenza virus stick to clothing?!
Question: I know this is a silly question, but does the influenza virus stick to clothing.?
Just a concerned Mom... I got jeans from eBay in the mail today and it came from someone who had the flu and I forgot and touched them... I just don't want to bring it in our household. I have the clothing in the washer on sanitize. Please don't say I'm stupid for asking because some viruses can stick to clothing...Health Question & Answer

A virus can't live on clothing. Even if it was there, it would eventually die because it needs a host to live off of (human, organism). And even if it could because it was sent through the mail, the virus would be long gone dead now.
It's a good thing you washed them though. Besides viruses, who knows what else might have been on it from the previous owner, lol. Health Question & Answer

It's the sort of question I'd ask a lot! (actually... I have asked veeery similar questions in the past!)
To be honest, I don't the answer.
But you can get antiseptic you can use on laundry if it helps you...
But seriously, they came through the post- virus's can't live that long on clothes! Don't worry!
