Help! I have a cold sore; should I go to the doctor and stay home from school?!
Question: Help! I have a cold sore; should I go to the doctor and stay home from school.?
Yesterday I recognized that little tingle, and started to use my abreva cream (I haven't had a outbreak in over 3 years!). Well, today I have a full blown set of fever blisters -- and all the yucky symptoms that go with it. I'm a college student, so I have to have excuses for every missed class. Do you think that I should skip class today and head to the doctor.? I have a low grade fever and feel all around yucky, and I'm worried that the (excuse the word) "oozing" will be a risk for spreading the infection to others (and myself in my eyes or nasal area) if I can't care for it carefully.

What you do about school is your problem. But mostly your problem is VANITY ! As far as the cold sore.. Start taking L-Lysiene at the Pharmacy.. I take 2 at the first sign of an outbreak, and 1 after every meal for 48 hours and then 1 every day.. I have many friends who take between 500 to 1000 mg a day, every day, to keep them from coming back.. It works!! Talk to your PharmacistHealth Question & Answer
