Answers:
it sound like migrains
The typical migraine headache is one-sided and pulsating, lasting 4 to 72 hours. Accompanying complaints are nausea and vomiting, and a heightened sensitivity to bright lights (photophobia) and noise (hyperacusis) Approximately one third of people who experience migraines get a preceding aura, in which a patient may sense a strange light or unpleasant smell.
make sure she rests is in a dim lit room and takes migrain pills, plenty of rest etc.

I have the same thing and I might be your mom's age... I've had every kind of testing: MRI's CT scans... you name it. They think it's migraine headaches... and yes they sure do make you nauseas!! I get them so bad and so often I have to HIDE in my bedroom with NO noise and NO light, There isn't much in the way of relief for them either - at least non that worked for me. I'm so sorry but at least I really don't think it's BRAIN CANCER!!! Good luck sweetie - you're a lovely daughter to worry about mom so much :)Health Question & Answer

Migraine headaches can cause all of those symptoms.

From what I remember of brain cancer, there are years of early symptoms that don't have anything to do with nausea and vomiting. And the vomiting is without warning with brain cancer. No nausea.Health Question & Answer

It could be a lot of things; cancer, aneurysm, glandular disorder, diabetes, stroke. Or it could be something relatively minor like migranes or poor nutrition. She should see a doctor.
