Answers:
How high was your BP. Was it borderline hypertension, that's about 130/90. If it was 140/100 or more you could have hypertension or it could have been a one time thing. Were you walking around just before you took it, that will cause it to be higher. Sit down and rest for 20 minutes or so before you take your BP or the reading will be high. You may have eaten too much salt, that will cause high blood pressure temporairally, drink lots of water to flush it out. If you are over weight your BP will be high, if you smoke it will be higher than most. Exercise is good for lowering the BP but lay off the salt, no smoking and lose weight if you are overweight. All these things will help lower it, plus never take it after you have just been walking around the store, rest first or it will be up from the exercise (walking) normal is 120/80 but it is usually higher if you are athletic. Health Question & Answer

get a manual monitor from a place like walgreens. Automatic ones are not accurate, and if they are low on batteries they are way off. Manual ones are easy to use, and a pharmacist or somebody could show you how to use it.Health Question & Answer

U should check it a few times, and even go to different places like CVS pharmacy. To lower the pressure you can exercise, eat healthy, and reduce salt intake. Health Question & Answer
