If i go to the gym is there a grater chance of me catching the winter vomiting bug? ?!

Question: If i go to the gym is there a grater chance of me catching the winter vomiting bug.? .?
I cannot stand...no....i am absolutely terrified of throwing up. Like, i would rather cut myself 0_0 lols. okay, that sounds really dramatic but i actually think i would.

Maybe you have guessed but i am emetophobic! woot! lol And that horrible vomity bug that goes round in the winter, the Nero virus, causes me great discomfort EVERY year.

I go to the gym regularly and it just ocured to me today, while watching others sweat, cough and such, "there are probably tones of viruses flying around in here and i am breathing them all in!" Great!

haha. it sounds stupid but i just wondered whether the gym is bad for spreading stomach related things.

I WASH MY HANDS SO GOOD WHEN I COME OUT...just incase you wondered :)Health Question & Answer

Okay well, for people like you, you can get a little extreme, but i'm gonna give you advice anyway.

-Continue to wash you hands
-IT IS EXTREMELY SMART OF YOU to go to the gym! Working out regularly will make your ammune system stronger, which will prevent you from getting those types of viruses
-If you feel yourself not feeling too well, before it gets really bad, dress in all of your winter clothes, lay in bed the the covers over you and sweat it out. It works i do it whenever i get sick and it works (i don't get sick too often)
-Continue to drink fluids. ESPECIALLY water.
-Since your a germaphobic, you can disinfect some things like doorknobs and toilet seats because they carry the most viruses, also handles of anything people will touch.
-Although tons of people cough and sweat in a gym (obviously) its healthy. Sweat is good for your body and skin, and although you make think that they are spreading viruses and what not, and especially because you are touching equipment others used, that's fine. You in a way have to collect germs, or your anti bodies wouldn't work, or be able to continue to be strong to fight of viruses
-also take a lot of vitamins. It will help in the long road
-Consume a lot of meats for protein.

If you follow this you should be fine, but even when taking these precautions there is always a possibility that you can catch the virus, this will just lessen your chance. Okay hope i helped!Health Question & Answer

There will be a higher chance of catching anything flu or virus related if you are in a place with a large group of people (malls, gyms, sports games). I would suggest Clorox wipes or antibacterial waterless cleaners and of course wipe down all the areas where the greatest skin/sweat contact would be. Health Question & Answer

I have emetophobia myself and I HATE being sick, I too would rather hurt myself which I know is stupid but I would if it meant not being sick.

You cannot really protect yourself from all bugs (I wish I could live in a a bubble believe me) but just make sure you eat the right foods, get plenty of exercise and good luck!Health Question & Answer

Being around a lot of people is how we get colds and the flu much of the time. People that are sick don't always stay home where they should. Yes, there is a greater chance of catching something when you go to the gym. Just carry antibacterial wipes with you and wipe off the equipment before you use it. Try not to touch your face, (germs can enter easily through the nostrils and eyes) and wash your hands. Of course then, you have those people that like to cough or sneeze in your face. According to the CDC, washing your hands often with soap and hot water is the most effective way to cut down on the spread of colds and flu, and other diseases. When you are not around a sink, use antibacterial wipes or antibacterial waterless hand cleaner......Health Question & Answer
