Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I've found that garlic and hot peppers work really well in treating colds. You have to use a lot though. I buy tomato soup from the grocery store, mince two cloves of fresh garlic (or 2 tsp. minced canned garlic) and add at least an 1/8 tsp. of ground cayenne pepper into one cup of the soup (add more if you can stand it). Then I drink/ slurp it pretty fast. It's not exactly gross, but I wouldn't cook it for my friends either (it's a lot of garlic and pepper). Sometimes I have to do this twice, but without fail I wake up the next day completely cured. Health Question & Answer
LOL. Good point. Try drinking chamomile tea mixed with ginger and lemon. It helps to clear your head of phlegm.Health Question & Answer
