Question: Asthmatic teacher missing work.?
I was brought to the hospital Sunday night for "acute exacerbation of asthma" and was kept there for a little over 3 hours. I was given proper medicine and sent home once my attack calmed down. I took off Monday b/c I felt weak, sore and achy. Took off today (Tuesday) because I'm still weak and my chest is still hurting and feels like there are weights on them. Seeing the doctor later today.
I have tenure but does it look bad if I take a 3rd day off if I still don't feel well tomorrow.? Health Question & Answer

Definitely listen to your body. Rest is very important and avoiding any possible "triggers".
I didn't know if this is your first asthma attack-if it is, you really need ot be evaluated by an asthma specialist.

You should of been on nubulizer treatments every four hours. Get to an asthma specialist for help. The right combo of meds can make your life much better.
Get a doctor note and bring in your hospital bill.
If you are tight in the chest you should go to the doctor NOW. DO NOT wait till later.
