Question: Head lice check at school tomorrow.?
yesterday we found out that the girls basketball team played a team that had lice. so now tomorrow we have lice checks beacause our school is so small (100 kids total in grades pre-k -8th). what do i need to do tonight. should i wash my hair or what.? i haven't been around these girls but they are mostly all in my brother's class so i don't think i have lice but what are the chances and if i do end up having them what will i have to do.?Health Question & Answer

The chances are minimal that you have lice. However, you can wash your hair, but if you have lice, they will still probably be in your hair. If you get checked and you do have lice, your parents will be instructed to purchase a special shampoo from a drug store. You will wash your hair with it once or twice and they will be gone! Well, i hate to break it to you, but if you do have lice, DO NOT wash your hair. They like clean hair. If you have lice, somebody will have to comb out your hair to get the eggs out - I really am sorry if I'm scaring you. It's not that bad, as long as you have something to keep you busy.
When I had lice, I sat in the kitchen in a chair playing my brother's GameBoy all day while my mom combed out the stupid eggs - grr. lol But, I did get to stay home from school, so that was at least a plus! Don't worry about it now. Just follow your normal Hygiene. The school nurse will tell you what you need to do if she finds nits in your hair. Basically, you just have to use a special shampoo that you can buy at the drug store and follow the directions on the package. Good luck.Health Question & Answer
check for white spots...(unless you have dandruff) if your head itches and thers the white spots you might have it..... pretty much just wash your hair real good lol and you should be fine...but the good thing if you have it...u getta miss school for a while just cuz of your hair! lolHealth Question & Answer
