Why is unpretected sex bad if..?!

Question: Why is unpretected sex bad if...?
ok say you only have sex wit one person and you never cheated on him and he never cheated on you...so you have unprotected sex with him...can you still get a STD.?.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
IF HE had sex before with some one else before you then he could possibly have an std from that previous person he had sex with.
If you don't know about his past partners then you don't know for sure where or whom he has been with before you so take precautions, get him tested or use condoms before you decide to get sexually involved with this guy.
But if you were both virgins then there would be little chance of getting an std from each other.Health Question & Answer

OK, here is a true story. My niece, who was a virgin, decided to have sex with her boyfriend, also a virgin. She was on the contraceptive pill because of acne and heavy periods, so pregnancy was not a concern. However, he was recovering from a coldsore, which was not noticeable to her or him, and she got genital herpes. Herpes won't kill you, but it can recur for years afterwards, especially during times of stress, and, when she has a family, may make a vaginal delivery difficult, or even not possible. So, use a condom! It isn't a big deal, is it.?Health Question & Answer

No, in that case, you wouldn't get an STD. But unfortunately, you can't always guarantee your partner's fidelity--50% of people cheat in marriage, and the spouse usually doesn't know it. also, if you have unprotected sex, you'll get pregnant, so that's a reason to take precautions.Health Question & Answer

It is unlikely but still a chance. He may have been born with HIV and was never told by his parents. Or he is cheating on you or has engaged in the past with people who were infected. If you both have NEVER been STD tested and both of you or 1 of you had sexual contact (oral sex and sex) with another person before you started dating then he could or you could have an STD and not know it.
Sometimes it can take months or years for a person to develop signs and symptoms of an STD.

My advice is to BOTH go to your doctors and request a full STD check up (specifically say you also want an HIV test, they make you sign a form). Then if it comes back negative you probably cant give any stds to each other IF neither of you cheats.
However sometimes people cheat and never tell you that they did. Best thing to do is use a condom. if he isnt your husband dont trust him with your life.
As someone stated above about cold sores (herpes). About 90% of the population has cold sores. We get it from friends/BFs/GFs and maybe even born with it. If a boy with an acitve cold sore gives you oral sex you will most likely get cold sores, herpes on your genitals.
So in that case yes you can get an STD even if you were both virgins. If he ever has a cold sore DONT kiss him until it dries up and dont let him kiss your genitals!Health Question & Answer

Yes you still can things like herpes and or HPV which is all skin to skin contact. At the time you might not see or notice anything unusaul but it can take several months or years before a wart or herpes show up. Just be really careful what you plan to do.Health Question & Answer

If he has never had sex before either, than most likely not but pregnancy is a very high probability, especially the younger you are. Don't tempt it unless you are ready for motherhood.Health Question & Answer

The problem is that you never know if that other person is being 100% honest with you. Health Question & Answer

And how would you know that he never cheated.?

Lying to your partner is sort of what cheating is all about.Health Question & Answer
