I received a flu shot last Friday, knowing that is could make me sick. My throat hurts this morning, but I do not have a fever or anything.

You can't catch the flu from the flu shot. The viral material in the shot is completely inactive (i.e., dead). It cannot cause an infection.
You were getting sick before the shot. Getting the shot and getting sick are coincidental.

No. The flu vaccine consists of incativated, non-infectious virus. If you get a fever, etc, from the vaccine, it is simply a manifestation of your immune response against the vaccine or one of its components, like chicken albumin (the vaccine is grown in chicken eggs). What.? You dont know if you have the flu until after you are contagious. You are contagious, which means you can pass it on to others, usually about 2-3 days before you see symptoms. Dont worry its just a flu. Flu shots are unhealthy anyways, take vitamin c, eat healthy and dont worry. Getting sick is actually VERY healthy. People who are germ-a-phobics have weak immune systems. It is good to come in contact with some germs and get sick once or twice a year. Any more than that is bad though, that means your immune system is naturally weak which is bad.
