Temporary breathing trouble occurred yesterday night?!

Question: Temporary breathing trouble occurred yesterday night.?
Yesterday night at about 1am while i tried to get up from my bed for urination, suddenly I felt some liquid was soaring up inside my food pipe and within seconds I could not breath. This may be due to temporary blockage of my food pipe/ air pipe as may be the case. When I forcibly tried to inhale I could not do so, heavy snoring like sound started. Then I myself gave a jolting with my palm on my head. Then I was able to breath easily. What is the reason for this. If any body knows the reason for this abnormality please tell and also suggest the remedyHealth Question & Answer

Answers:
Sounds like you had an incident of gastric reflux, which can make your throat close up -- same as when you vomit -- your body doesn't want to aspirate the fluid into your bronchial passages. It takes a few seconds and a swallow or two to clear the way again, so by the time you'd bonked yourself in the head your body had done what it needed to do to breathe again - I bet if you think back you were swallowing to try to clear your throat, and probably got a drink of water when it was over.
You can try not to eat things that might upset your stomach before bed, and sleep with your head a little higher than your feet to help avoid this type of annoyance. If it becomes an issue for you, there are medications to help -- talk to your doctor at that point.Health Question & Answer
