I had bleeding for a week only when I have a bowel movement.?!

Question: I had bleeding for a week only when I have a bowel movement..?
So I went to the doctor. He said it was hemorrhoids and gave me proctosol-HC 2.5%, that is a cream to put in my anus. I have used it just like he said and it has been four days since then. I am still getting bleeding only when I have a bowel movement but not quite as much. Is it getting better or should I go sse my doctor again.? How long should I give it to heal.? He never told me about diet or stool softeners or anything like that. Is there anything else I can do to speed the healing.? Thanks :)Health Question & Answer

Answers:
If your hemorrhoids are due to constipation and straining, then yes, you need to go on a high fiber diet and make sure you are drinking plenty of water to help you keep your stool soft.
I do not know why you were not given "the talk" about that.

Doesn't the directions from your doctor let you know how long they want you to use the product.? I believe it is 1-2 weeks, but because everyone is different and treatment is tailored to the patient in this case, the best thing to do is to call your doctor's office and ask for instruction clarification.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!Health Question & Answer

you maybe straining a lil so try to relax .
Go to a natural health food store and get some Aloe water it will help tremendously.
If you don't have a health food store then buy a Aloe plant and make ur own water by snapping off a piece down at the base.
then squeeze out some of the juices from inside the plant in a cup of water. Drink this every day.Health Question & Answer

is the blood in the toilet or actually on the stool.?
If it gets worse or the blood is not only in the stool you may want further evaluation.

You should see a stomach doctor because bleeding for a whole week is just too much- you may need a scope to make sure you don't have polyps or IBD or Crohns.Health Question & Answer

You need to see Gastrointestinal Dr., those questions should have been answered before you left there office on the first visit.Health Question & Answer
