wouldn't you go and get tested immediately.? And if NOT...WHY.?!

If he knew he had the disease and slept with you without telling you, you can definitely try to sue him. Go look in the phonebook and call around for attorneys. There are lawyers that specialize in STD litigation. HIV and Herpes are both considered to be incurable diseases, so you definitely have grounds for compensation for your medical bills as well as emotional suffering. The lawyer can get a court order to look at his medical records, and see if he had been to a doctor and diagnosed. also, you might be able to find people that he has slept with and build a case that he was really promiscuous.
However, you must realize that Herpes is not the end of the world. It rarely causes any health problems, besides annoying blisters and redness. Most people only have about 4 break outs per year. They get to be much less frequent after the first year. Because you are pregnant, your immune system is down so you will be having much less frequent breakouts after you give birth. There are also medications that can help prevent future breakouts. also, you can simply have a C-section to prevent spreading it to your baby.
Even though it's not the end of the world, you should still pursue a lawsuit. You need to do so so he thinks twice before spreading his disease again!

You can go get tested but they can't diagnose until you have a breakout. If the person you had sex with was not have a breakout at the time, you may not get it. Herpes is a virus that is stored at the base of your spine and gets active in times of stress (when you least need it) or weak immune function. The first outbreak is the worst, but if you are infected, you will always have it. It'll affect you when you least need it but you can manage it pretty well without a daily medication, my bff has herpes and has not had an outbreak in 7 years 'cause she manages her stress very well and knows the illness and takes care of it at the slightest sign. Well initially my first reaction would be to get tested right away, but blood tests for herpes are not 100% accurate, so your best bet would be to wait and see if you have an outbreak and then get tested if bumps do come. Get the bumps tested and you will know for sure. If you never get any bumps, that doesn't mean you are in the clear, so after about 2 months, you can try the blood test. Health Question & Answer
