So I'm 14, about 5'5" and 106 pounds.
I used to eat all the time but over the 2 weeks my appetite has gone down but no weight lose thank god. I have been getting really shaky and week and a few of my friends said that I probably either have diabetes or hypoglycemia. My mom pricked my finger the other day and it was 60 so she told me to eat some candy. Could I have hypoglycemia.? I'm terrified of the doctor and needles so thats not a choice...Just how should i take care if it.? My mom said to start carrying candy around with me.Health Question & Answer

Whole grains keep your blood sugar stable longer. Keep granola bars near. Pure sugar can actually make it worse later. Try to eat balanced meals.Health Question & Answer

You most likely are. If you are hypoglycemic you need to make sure that you eat a small snack every couple of hours to keep your blood sugar up. it helps to drink orange juice or apple juice as well. Hypoglycemia is not a big deal unless you ignore it and then you will start having blackouts and passing out and it will start causing other health issues. Health Question & Answer

-_- If you have diabetes OR hypoglycemia or anything else wrong with you, you're gonna have to go to the doctor. If you're "terrified" of them, then your mom's gonna have to be the responsible one and make sure that you get what you need to be healthy by MAKING you go to the doctor. Simple as that.Health Question & Answer

Listen to your mom and eat protein at every meal or you will be getting many more needles and a bump on your head if you pass out with a low blood sugarHealth Question & Answer
