Am I at Risk at Relapsing back to Anorexia?!
Question: Am I at Risk at Relapsing back to Anorexia.?
8 years ago I was hospitalized for anorexia. I weighed 100 lbs at 5' 8" tall. I spent the next 3 years in and out of 7 institutions trying to get a handle on the disorder. I finally underwent several ECT treatments, which seemed to bounce me out of the restricting and ritual eating habits and into binging. No one cared about the binging, except me, because I was at a "healthy" weight 130 lbs. I soon returned to work as a teacher. Well that was 4 and a half years ago. In those years I gained 88lbs. This August although, I began to restrict. I eat only 300-400 calories on average a day, never ever binging. In three months I have lost 50 lbs. I am recognizing some of my old behaviors, except one. I am not obsessed with exercise. But I see it on the horizon. I notice I need to eat less and less to lose weight so I now see I need the exercise and that is how it began before. But, I haven't started yet and I keep saying I am going to, but I'm not obsessed, so am I anorexic again, or a better question, am I relapsing. For someone who has been there before, maybe you can answer me. Is this normal and will it pass.? Or am I in danger.?

It's very easy to get back into old habits after rehab for anorexia, I've bounced to and from my old habits tons of times. However, for the sake of your health, I strongly urge you to speak to a doctor or a specialist in the field. They would be able to more accurately answer your questions and concerns then people on Yahoo answers could.Health Question & Answer
