Drinking on Antibiotics will decreases the effectiveness of the antibiotics. So whatever infection your body is trying ot fight off will not get the full treatment it needs. Your stomach might get more upset with the combination of the two because antibiotics tend to upset the GI tract in general. Generally speaking you shouldn't drink alcohol when on antibiotics (abx), some shouldn't be taken with alcohol at all, if the abx you on do not state that you should avoid alcohol then it is safe to drink in moderation but whilst your body recovering from infection you should aviod drinking excessively as this will affect your immune system. I would suggest taking abx, drink lots of water, eats lots of fruit and veg, rest, yoghurt for girls and try and recover your body or your healing will be delayed. I would say a couple glasses of wine with dinner is ok if your abx can be taken with alcohol.

Hello from what i am aware.. It slows down the effectiveness of any medication and you will get drunk much quicker.. it can be dangerous if you drink in copious amounts... rather stay off the drinks.Health Question & Answer
