Question: My neck and scalp are really itchy! what is this.? I know it is not head lice or dandruff! Please help me!.?
For the past 3 weeks my head and neck have been itchy...now its a lot worse. There is a rash on my neck ( i wouldn't know if there was one on my head). it itches ALL THE TIME. Im 100% sure it is not head lice (I have had it before) and is not dandruff. I NEED HELP! I don't even have dry skin... if anything it is normal to oily! My lymph nodes are also swollen. Hello. You said it has lasted three weeks so far, so my first question to you is have you recently switched shampoos/conditioner.? Even body soaps perhaps.? A man below said something about warm olive oil. This is a good idea. Adding rosemary to the olive oil will also have great effects. It will both clean your scalp and supplement it. A few years back I started getting the same thing when I moved to Florida. I thought the sunlight had burned my scalp or something and I started using Paul Mitchel's Tea Tree Shampoo and conditioner. The idea was to cut away the dandruff. Then I realized it wasn't dandruff. It was much larger and flakier. I tried everything, all kinds of herbs and milks and even Tsal and Tgel. Nothing worked. I started to think it was psoriasis on my scalp. What did help was taking the juice from a lemon and mixing it with water and my conditioner in the shower and massaging it in. However, that only lasted for a short period until it flaked up again. Then I got something called Nizoral. It is a shampoo, usually in a blue bottle. It isn't expensive, and you can find it at places like walmart. Immediately I saw the difference. It wiped out the flakes, regenerated my scalp, shined up my hair, and I could feel each individual space between hair follicles it was so clean. You need to use it daily until the bottle is gone. My mother, a doctor, told me to keep using it forever to prevent it from coming back but it has been two years and so far not a problem at all :) Good luck! Honestly, I think if that does not work, you should see a dermatologist. I really think you should try Nizoral first though. -CharlieHealth Question & Answer
