I feel as if there is something stuck in it, i am 15 and as odd as this is i get heart burn quite offten, but lately it has been gone and the feeling has gotten worse. I've been having a similar problem for going on 2 years now. A feeling of tightness and strain in my throat and voice, while at the same time a strange sensation of a physical bump that my throat "runs over" every time I swallow.

I've had every type of test, but it took the second of two throat specialists to tell me that there was two problems going on. One, I have acid reflux while I sleep (due largely to drinking alcohol too late before I go to sleep, and too often so). I too have had chronic heartburn for years, and it lately has gone away - just in time for this problem to crop up.

And two, the bump I'm "running over" with my throat is most likely a bit of bent/dented cartilage in my esophagus - something that probably happened overnight when I was zonked out. He's recommended to me some vocal exercises/training to snap the muscles in my neck back into shape and right the problem. I don't know if that will work, but the antacid (Prevacid) he prescribed is something I'm taking religiously since that's the cause of discomfort for me.

How can taking a little pill be a waste of time if it might solve your lengthy problem.? Do it.

Good luck.Health Question & Answer

lol that has happened to me before on and off. for me its when i swallow, something is then pushed back up, its an odd feeling. I dont think its normal though, i'm 17 and i have a disease called crohn's disease (a digestive disease) im not saying you have it but if you cant stand it you may have to go to an ENT doctor and he may advise you to get an endoscopy, where they put a camera down your throat. trust me though its quick and painless. good luck and i dont want to freak you out or anything.Health Question & Answer
