6 y/o son vomited 3 times, has nausea, but no fever?!

Question: 6 y/o son vomited 3 times, has nausea, but no fever.?
I had to go pick him up from school this morning because he threw up 3 times they said(all at the same time/in a row, I guess).
He's home now and has not gotten sick again, but he said his stomach still feels sick. No fever, he's resting right now and has been drinking water.
Is there anything else I can do for him.? Anything I can give him to help with the nausea.? I don't have any pepto, but I can get some if needed. Or anything else.?
Thanks.

Give him room temperature ginger ale, make sure the fizz has died down before giving it to him. Tell him to sip on it, don't drink it all at once. Saltine crackers will help settle his stomach as well. I would make sure he has a clear liquid diet for the next 24 hours to give his stomach time to settle down. It sounds like a stomach virus and he should be fine within the next day or so. Health Question & Answer

Poor little guy -- hope he's feeling better. It often helps to just suck on small ice chips. I wouldn't give him a lot of water -- just small sips. I always found Pepsi or Coke was easy on a little one's stomach, but get the fizz out -- pour a little in a cup and then pour it in another cup, with the cups about 6" apart. Keep pouring back and forth until there is no fizz. also, my daughter's pediatrician always started the food with a small lollipop -- they can suck on that and it gives them a little sugar for energy and it is a little treat but easy on the stomach. Good luck to your little boy.Health Question & Answer

I agree with the advice you've already been given and would add that you keep him at home for another day or two and monitor him. Don't give him Pepto-Bismol or anything like it for now. Let him rest or play quietly.

To help him with small sips, give him only small amounts of fluids at a time but offer them frequently throughout the day. Room temp is best for right now as cold fluids may irritate his stomach further and induce vomiting.

If in 3 days he shows no improvement or develops additional symptoms, contact your pediatrician for further advice.Health Question & Answer
