Question: Perscribe as needed.? what does that mean.?
my dr gave me 2 prescriptions for the same med. one to get that same day and the other said prescribe as needed on the bottom. so what does that mean.? is it like refills or will i need to get another prescription when i need more.? Health Question & Answer

Not seeing the prescription or knowing what it is for , I can only venture a guess and say that I believe it is a refill. Please call your Dr's office and speak to his/ her nurse for clarification. No one should ever be confused about their prescription meds. Or you can just asl pharmacist , that might even be easier.Health Question & Answer
To tell you the truth, I don't deal with "scripts" but I don't recall ever having seen nor heard of this particular notation.
It sounds like you can get another prescription if necessary and that the pharmacy can call the doctor for a verbal. I suggest you contact your doctor and ask a medical assistant (no nurses there) to check with the doc while you hold.
