OK, simple test. Force yourself to breath out as much as you possibly can, hold for a second, then breath in. Does that one intake of breath feel normal.? If it does but your breathing returns to being restricted, then it could be asthma, or a simple chest infection, or an allergy and you should visit your doctor.
Do you have a noisy wheeze.? Are you coughing.? What happens when you lie flat, does your breathing become more difficult.? Again if so it could be asthma.
However you say you worry a lot, stress, anxiety and worry can all make your breathing appear difficult, only a medical check up will answer your questions.
Finally, you won't need a sign or any other form of indication if you do actually have an asthma attack, believe me you'll know!Health Question & Answer

i have had asthma since iwas born of course so can answer your question truthfully.Last night i had an attack which was shortage of air flow, coughing, wheezing, and unable to sleep.People usually tend to get asthma during or close to winter because the way the air is tightened up and how dry it gets when its not raining.Dont wait to go to the doctors when you get an attack.Go to the doctors as soon as possible because most likely if you dont you can die because you are unmedicated.Or you can get a perscription from the pharmecy and the can give you an inhaler to use every 4-6 hours.

When diagnosing Asthma; presence of more than one relevant symptom (wheeze, breathlessness, chest tightness and cough) are generally used to determine, particularly where these are:

worse at night and early morning
triggered by exercise, allergen or cold air
Aspirin or beta blocker reaction.
A personal or family history of atopy
Widespread wheeze on chest examination
Otherwise unexplained low FEV1 or PEF (Spirometry/peak flow reading)

You need to see your Dr, you can't diagnose this sort of thing on the InternetHealth Question & Answer

You probably have athletes asthma. Exertion and strenuous exercise brings it on. Jackie Joiner Kersey has it as do many athletes. Buy a Primatene inhaler to help you out ONLY during workouts. It will open up your bronchials. Use it sparingly. When or if it stops helping, go to the doctor. Health Question & Answer

Wheezing
Coughing
Shortness of breath
Tightness in the chest
Peak flow numbers may be in the caution or danger range (usually 50% to 80% of personal best)

All of theese are symptoms of asthma.. If you have any of theese you should go to the doctor.Health Question & Answer

Are you out of shape.? I had asthma for some time as a young kid. However, when I began running a mile or so at school, the asthma went away.

If you feel very concerned, go to the doctor with your parents. They can diagnose you there.Health Question & Answer
