You need to mention what disease you are suffering fom,you just mentioned that you are suffering from moderate kidney disease.
Still i am mentioning few things you can do to protect your kineys.it is good that you are drinking good amount of water(make it 10 glasses per day).decrease proteins in your diet but don't completely restrict them as this harm the kidneys.
Eat salts in diet in moderation i.e.don't take heavily salted things.
You definately need to stop smoking, atleast try decreasing it now.smoking is a direct factor affecting functioning working of kidney.so stop it.
Do regular moderate exercises as it is good for kidney
do get your regular check ups done .Health Question & Answer

Well, one of the best things you can do is stop smoking. Even though it doesn't have a particularly direct effect on the kidneys, it does lower your blood oxygen levels when you smoke, which can be hard on each individual nephron (the smallest units in the kidney which do all the filtering work). If you starve a nephron of oxygen and it dies, you never get it back. Good thing there are millions of them, right.? So, stop smoking, if you can. also, eat more fruits and leafy veggies with lots of water in them (tomatoes, apples, romaine lettuce, spinach, etc.) and watch your blood pressure. High blood pressure can have similar effects as low blood oxygen on your kidneys and obviously smoking contributes to higher blood pressure. Moderate exercise would be good, too (as long as your doc is okay with it). Good luck!Health Question & Answer

Ibuprofen and other NSAID's should be avoided if you have kidney disease. Ask you doctor before you start on any medication.Health Question & Answer
