Antibiotics for Acne? ?!

Hi, I am a 17 year old male and I have suffered with acne for a long time. My face got so bad that my doctor put me on a antibiotic and it did nothing. So then i went on accutane and after the treatment of about 6 months i was completely clear. But now about three and a half months being off accutane im breaking out horribly again. It sucks! I was so happy with clear skin! But my face still isn't as bad as it was and im just wondering if I should try an antibiotic now that my face isn't as bad(10 to 20 pimples). Will an antibiotic get me clear with my acne problem now that my face isn't as bad as it was.? Has anyone gone through what im going through.? If so what did you do after accutane.?Health Question & Answer

I have heard that "rebound acne" is common once accutane is stopped. Some acne is caused by bacteria in your skin, so if that's what is causing your acne it should work. But if it's not, maybe going back on the accutane is the best solution. Either way, good luck!Health Question & Answer
Well, I'm 15 and I was in a similar situation as you. A few months after Accutane, a lot of pimples started growing at the back of my head. My doctor prescribed me Solodyn (an antibiotic) and it got rid of the pimples. So I suggest using an antibiotic first before trying Accutane a second time because it really isn't that good for your body.Health Question & Answer
