I am a 16 year old and I have had type 1 diabetes since 3 and a half years.Initially,I was really fit,I would exercise ,do yoga and very religiously too.But then with time,I lost interest ,stopped,gained weight,abed had my my dose raised to 40 units a day.
Now I want my form and health back and my present sate is driving me crazy .I feel frustrated!From 108 lbs and 5'6,I shot up to 120 lbs in 6 months.I then started walking for 50 minutes a day with 45 minutes yoga.Surprisingly,my weight dropped to 115 lbs in one week.
But seeing my blood sugar levels go awry again,I just don't feel like exercising.

I have a 16 year old son. We've had issues with crazy blood sugar levels, but through the help of a certified diabetes educator we've been able to get his numbers back in order. You need to keep a log of activity, food and insulin to help you identify patterns. You may run low hours after exercising. Work with your endocrinologist to help you identify patterns so that you can adjust your insulin accordingly. You may need less insulin on days you work out. Are you on an insulin pump.? You may have to turn down your bolus when exercising.
