need help.? any ideas.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Hydration and sleep. Obviously, avoid aspirin (or any other aspirin-containing products -- use Tylenol for fevers) and Pepto-Bismol because these things can increase the chance of Reye's Syndrome (if you're not sure which, the bottle will always say if there's a complication with Reye's Syndrome).

For hydration, it's important to give them what they want (except for soda or anything that can increase dehydration). For sleep, it's important to do things that will help decrease irritation from the sores. When I had chicken pox, my mom gave me a bath with oatmeal. Sounds weird, but it really helped soothe my skin and make the itching stop. also, since I couldn't stay in the bath forever, calamine lotion helps as well. It's pink and weird and crusty, but it makes the itching stop and stay away. It's also important not to rush the child too quickly back to school. I thought I was over it and ready to go back to school but by the end of the day, I was sick all over again and needed a few more days off. The same was true for my brother. It's good to give another day, even if the child seems absolutely fine. Hope this helps!Health Question & Answer

plenty of rest, plenty of fluids, oatmeal baths if the doctor recommends it, or what ever type wash they recommend. Some type of anti itch cream that the doctor tells you is ok. Health Question & Answer
