Do I have diabetes????!

Question: Do I have diabetes.?.?.?.?
Okay, yes I know I need to go to the doctor. You don't have to tell me. I have an appointment, I just wanted some information before I go. I have a lot of symptoms of diabetes. I am very tired all the time, I have some sores on my ankles and feet that have been there for years and won't heal, I have very dry skin, I am hungry all the time, and thirsty all the time, my unrine has recently started being dark yellow with a bad smell, kind of like amonia I guess. I used my father in law's blood sugar tester thing today at about 1 pm and I hadn't eaten or drank anything since last night about 7 pm and the level was 129. Is this normal.? He told me that it was a little high, but I read on the internet that 110 and over is high and somewhere else I read over 140 was high. So is this a normal reading or not.? Thanks for all your answers!!Health Question & Answer

Read this carefully angela,

Fasting Blood Sugar Test:
Measures the blood sugar level after 8 hours fast or overnight. Normal fasting blood glucose level is less than 100mg/dl. If your fasting blood glucose level is from 100mg/dl to 125mg/dl then you will have impaired blood glucose level also known as Pre-Diabetes. If your blood glucose level is above 125mg/dl then your doctor will diagnose as a patient of diabetes. To confirm the diagnosis, your doctor may repeat the fasting blood glucose test on any other day. If you have blood glucose level of 126mg/dl or higher in two consecutive tests, then you may have diabetes. If you have blood glucose level greater than 200mg/dl and you have symptoms of diabetes like increased thirst or hunger, frequent urination, weight loss, blurred vision etc, then you may be diagnosed with diabetes mellitus without confirming it with second test.

Now for the test 2 hours after you ate..

Random Blood Glucose Test:
Random blood Glucose test gives your blood sugar at any time in a day. Normal random blood sugar level should be less than 200mg/dl. If your random blood glucose level is between 140mg/dl to 200mg/dl then you will have pre-diabetes.

Health Question & Answer

A diabetes reading of 129 is high!!!!! Esepically since you hadn't ate anything in awhile. A normal level is beteween 80-120 and that's if you ate. Two hours after eating check your blood glucose, this is the time when you will be the highest. When you wake in the morning you should check your glucose level and if above 120 there is a high possibility you are diabetic. But your doctor will do some test and tell you for sure that is the only clear way of knowing. Health Question & Answer

A reading of 129 is definitely not a diabetes reading. It is not uncommon for undiagnosed and obviously untreated diabetics to have readings of 800 or higher. You probably need to be seen but I suspect your diagnosis will not be diabetes. Your thirst and dark, odorous urine could simply be dehydration since those a very typical symptoms of that.Health Question & Answer

Depends of the type of diabetes you have, but in order to have sugar related diabetes you need to measure at least 180...
dark urine indicates that your kidneys are not processing well the fluids, tired and sorse on skin... I'd say it's more indicative of an infection (if u have fever) cause it's less likely to have diabetes.Health Question & Answer

Since you didn't have anything to eat for such a long time it should be lower. Less than 100 for a fasting blood sugar is normal. Health Question & Answer

You are normal but appear to be in stress. Start exercises.Health Question & Answer
