Question: My step dad was diagnosed with a tumor question about his work .?
my step dad has been diagnosed with a brain tumor but they still haven't found out if his tumor is cancerous or not, my step dad right now makes all the money in our household and i was just wondering in the incident if he had to have surgery to remove it and thus making him miss his work for a the length of the recovery, will my family get help from the goverment or from our healthcare company or life insurance company to pay our bills .?Health Question & Answer


Answers:
He should qualify for state or federal disability benefits, depending upon the length of recovery. This will be a "fixed income", and will undoubtedly be less than the income from his work.

On such a fixed income, a family with children under 18 should qualify for USDA Food Stamps, free food give-aways, and possibly WIC.

Any loans in his name should be covered by disability insurance for the duration of his recovery.
