Wating is probably fine, depending on how severe the infection is. If you have a simple ear ache [without any drainage from the ear] as the only symptom you should be fine until then if you don't mind the pain.

If you develop a high fever, drainage of blood or pus from the ear, or a sore/stiff neck you must get into your physician right away to be checked out. Health Question & Answer

Question is not this whether doctor can wait or not,but question is whether your ear can handle the delay in treatment.
If you think your work is more important than your hearing ,than delay it otherwise consult a doctor.
harm can only be told when you wll be examined by a doctor.there can be rupture of tympanic membrane(ear drum),infection can spread to nose and throat also.
worst can be hearing loss and best case scenario is nothing happens except pain in ear.Health Question & Answer

I would be lying if I said no. There is always potential harm if you have a bacterial infection that goes untreated. Many ear infections are often caused by bacteria which will respond to antibiotics (as opposed to viruses for which there is typically no therapy).

If you are worried that you have an ear infection, my advice to you would be to get checked out ASAP. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

If it's not a really bad one, you should be fine until then. I don't have health insurance, so I never go to the doctor. Whenever I have an ear infection, I make sure to stay indoors as much as possible, load up on my vitamins, take a pain reliever and fever reducer such as Tylenol, stuff cotton in that ear, and keep a heating pad on it. Otherwise, if it's really bad, I'd consider calling other doctors to get in before Tuesday.Health Question & Answer

The ear infection is terribly serious that you need take terribly seriously, because the infection (depending on what stage it is on) can lead you to deafness. If it is just simple earache (not terribly bad one), you can use the olive oil treatment, it helps for my husband everytime he has simple earache. Good Luck.

Usually I don't bother going to the doctor for ear infections at all. They either clear up within a week on their own or I use some over-the-counter drops. There is a risk of complications if you wait, yes, but it's very small....

If you're really worried, though, just visit a walk-in clinic instead.Health Question & Answer

doctors now days have found that alot of times they will clear up on their own and hesitate to give antibiotics because of this. You should be fine until your appointment.Try heating some salt and wrapping it in a towel and laying it on your ear, not a cure but the heat makes it feel better.Health Question & Answer

It would depend on the severity of the infection. For most, I'd say yes it can wait a couple of days. If there is drainage, especially bloody drainage, if drainage develops, or severe pain, the ear shouldn't wait. But otitis media isn't an Infectious Disease.
Health Question & Answer

Is there drainage from your ear or just redness and pain.? If there's draining, I wouldn't wait but otherwise I would. More and more, doctors don't prescribe anything anyway and just advise you to monitor it unless, of course, it's severe.Health Question & Answer
