What can be done for my husband's sensitive skin?!

Question: What can be done for my husband's sensitive skin.?
My husband has really sensitive skin, I even have to use a special laundry detergent so it won't make him break out. He has been to the doctor before and they told him there is nothing they can do except treat the symptoms with lotion. We've tried using all sorts of lotions and creme but nothing seems to help. He still breaks out with little read clusters of sores/dry skin. It seems like its getting worse, especially along his sides, legs, underarms, and butt. Does anyone know of anything over the counter that will help him.?.? (also, he says it doesn't hurt at all, but sometimes it gets really itchy..)Health Question & Answer

Sounds like eczema/dermatitis. This is very common, and some people are extrememly sensitive. Firstly he must keep his skin moisturised at all times using a simple moisturiser such as Duprobase or 50/50 (but not E45) which can be purchased in large tubs. Twice a day, or more, he should moisturise from head to toe with a good layer of moisturiser. If the skin is moist it is less likely to break. Secondly, avoid scratching. Its unbearable I know, but you do not want to break the skin if you can help it so try cotton gloves at night. Thirdly, get a good steroid cream from your doctor for the worst areas, and use a TINY amount of it. This will reduce inflammation and ease the itch. Lastly, avoid ALL soap products. Look for soap free, as soap is an extrememly common trigger for eczema/dermatitis, try baby detergent (Filleti) and use dust sheets on bed and pillows (some allergies to dust mites and their dirt cause skin problems). Buy some oil for the bath too (Oilatum) and soak when you can, its good for keeping skin moist.

If you do everything it will clear up. The problem most people have is that they don't do it regularly enough. Persist and it will get better. Good Luck x Health Question & Answer

Use a moisturizer to strengthen your skin and provide a barrier against irritants. Make sure you use an non perfumed moisturizer, which will not irritate your skin.check out http://tipsfromruby-skincare.blogspot.co...Health Question & Answer
