any surface which harbours germs is called a fomite. Probably the fomite which potentially carries the largest amount of germs is money. money changes hands hundreds of times, each time accumulating more germs (people vary rarely clean money) also money is dropped on floors, in rubbish bins, down toilets, stuck down shorts etc and is also mixed with other money carrying different germs and travels in and out the hands of people who are sick - hospitals for example. money is probably the biggest travelling fomite!Health Question & Answer
hands...soap does NOT carry germs. even public hand soap cannot help bacteria and germs strive because of all the friction (when you rub the soap between your hands) and acids in the soap itself.

Every thing humans touch speak into handle pick up toss away remotes gros buggies kiddies do all in them( wet ,poo, pick nose, spit up nasty stuff,spill things, drool on handle,cough, sneeze) plus nasty hands are on them all the time sit in weather and then brought in , money from farmers ranchers druggies all money is nasty but we all love it.Just think where this has been before you got your grubby hands on to it(.?).
